The Health Coaching Process

Our Health Coaching Steps

Health Screen

Prior to your first call you will be sent a questionnaire to screen the pillars of health: movement, sleep, nutrition, mental health as well as your breathing. This will help identify areas for self improvement, determine whether you may require a referral to a qualified medical professional, as well as establish baselines from which to work from.

Together we will establish clear, concise and measurable top level goals. We will then break these down into more manageable specific sub goals. These will be reviewed at the start of each call in order to always keep the big picture in sight and prevent getting lost in the weeds.

From here we will discuss potential barriers or challenges you feel are in your way and prioritize them in order of importance. This will give us a direction for the next part of specifying individualized action steps.

Using our barriers/challenges priority list we will brainstorm together solutions and establish very specific action steps for the next block of time. We will ensure these steps are small enough that you are likely to successfully achieve them but still challenge you just outside your comfort zone.

Each time you are successful and you are confident that the new change has become a habit, we will move this item into your wins column and watch them pile up. Wins will be discussed at each follow up call not only to reinforce positive change but to provide individual insight in order to learn and grow from.

The ability to track your actionable steps is extremely important to be able adapt and progress towards your goals. The one requirement we will insist on is having a method of tracking your action steps each week in order to have this information ready for your next follow up call. Journaling is what we recommend most often however it just has to fit with when and how you will be tracking these steps. The take away here is you will need a way to track things.

At the end of each call you will receive a summary of what was discussed in your call in order for you to review it and keep track of your next block’s action plan.
