What People are Saying about our Health Coaching

Below are recent responses from health coaching clients to a few feedback questions.

What did you find most beneficial for you?

“The guidance and teaching me to not be so hard on myself, you reassuring me that yes sometimes i may “fall off the wagon” there is always a get back on the wagon moment. You helping me find those cues to reevaluate are great to get me to jump back in”

” I really enjoyed having someone to help breakdown large goals/changes into achievable actions. It really helped steer away from the all of none-mentality that often results in me giving up on trying to invoke the changes. Additionally, having someone point out and force me to recognize the small wins (going from say running 2 times in 2 weeks to 4 times). It’s easy to get too focused on the end goal and not appreciate the steps along the way.”

“The accountability that came with having scheduled sessions and a set list of goals to work on in between sessions. Having both long-term and more importantly (for me) bite sized short-term goals made the process less overwhelming and increased my confidence in being able to accomplish goals from week to week. I also appreciated the flexibility/being able to re-work the goals as needed and having another pair of eyes (ears?) to identify barriers that came up that prevented me from achieving a goal”

“As a student I found this incredibly helpful, and it really helped breakdown my whole concept that I am too busy to do all these things. I think really anyone struggling to find balance within their life and having a hard time making the changes they want would benefit. I also would have found this structure very helpful when training for any of my runs. So I guess specifically I would say students, and active people wanting to achieve new goals (new running distance) or get back into a fitness routine. Also as someone working actively to come out and heal after a burn out period its also been very complimentary to therapy, so I guess that too… really anyone and everyone.”

“Anyone! Everyone could use the help. I think it would have been great to have this when i was younger too as it would have set me up for success. Anyone who values their body and mind could really benefit from this. A lot of people are looking to self improve lately and i think this is an amazing opportunity and tool. I notice more people in my age group seem to be wanting guidance at the moment, i think people in their 20s and 30s are just generally looking to be the best person they can be. This is around the time when we feel more adult then we ever had if that makes any sense as this is the time in life where a good chunk of people are going through major life changes (starting a family, getting married, buying a home etc)”

“Anyone wanting willing to make a change in their life in order to improve their physical and mental health.”

“Yes! You worked with me to pick goals that felt important and achievable and asked me if they felt realistic. You were open to listening as any barriers came up and made suggestions to mitigate these.”

“Yes, I feel like I was in charge and doing the work but you helped guide me to where i needed to be and set me in the right direction.”

“I definitely felt in control and really liked how you forced me to come up with my own goals/definitions for things or asked me to rephrase in my own words so you could understand me, rather than running with purely your interpretation.”

“I always left our sessions feeling great mentally, your positive outlook is contagious. You always had a way of turning negatives into positives, or celebrating the little victories even when i fail to see them.”

“Even on the weeks that I felt I didn’t “succeed” in the goals/tasks we set, you always made sure to applaud any small wins, even if it was just a shift in thoughts and not at the level of full actions. This really made me feel motivated and confident leaving our sessions. Having the meetings, discussing goals, and breaking them down into small actions really helped me feel a lot more calm and less overwhelmed with the things I want to do and how to get there.”

“I think you do an exceptional job at re-motivating me after a tough block. You make sure to highlight any small win, even if its a shift in my perspective, or a new realization from some introspection! This makes me realize even without doing all the actions, I am still taking steps in the right direction. I also appreciate when you suggest re-framing goals, or breaking them down even more, when they goals/tasks I struggled to do in the tough week. Your positivity is contagious especially after a tough block. I often leave the session feeling better about the 2 week period than I went into the session with after discussing it all with you.”

“I felt motivated! I knew what I was going to be focusing on for the following 2-3 week period (and having a set timeframe to make changes in was actually very helpful – prevented me from putting things off/forgetting what I needed to work on). I also felt heard.”

“In general, I looked forward to our sessions. If I knew I had failed badly at completing a goal I felt a bit anxious. I would say with time, I learned rather than feeling guilty/worried about not meeting all my goals, to instead work on identifying the thoughts/habits/reasons that preventing me from achieving them. You always asked what got in the way, rather than judging, and this was super helpful!”

“I’ve really enjoyed these sessions and speak so highly of them to my friends and family. They’ve been really helpful to me in trying to feel more balanced and getting back / becoming the active person I was a few years ago. THANK YOU!”

“I have a hard time with my scheduling being really all of the map between school and social activities. I think you do a great job of emphasizing that life cannot be all or none and it needs to be a balance between a good routine, and the availability to still do the things you want like nights out with friends when you need them. I think talking to you during these “unusual periods” is helping to make me be more kind to myself when I take a day off after a night out, and let my body rest. I also think keeping track of this stuff like sleep has been important for me to see how much better I do when I am prioritizing my health and how much more balanced and capable I feel to do school and still maintain a social life etc!”
